Black-cherry colour with garnet glints. On the nose the ripe fruit comes to the fore with spicy notes of pepper, dried fruit and coffee, bringing great complexity. On the palate the attack is pleasant and unctuous, with good backbone, great final acidity and a long, lingering finish.
This wine is made from grapes grown in plot 14 of our vineyards, a singular parcel planted on a slope in the highest point of the estate. After a year in which the climate conditions favoured exceptionally slow, gradual ripening, it was harvested on the night of 28 August. Fermentation in the vat at a temperature of 23-25ºC with no addition of sulphur dioxide and devatted with the alcoholic fermentation complete. After 48 hours racked to separate from the lees. Aged on fine lees until transfer to casks. Cask-aged for 6 months. Final refining coupage to incorporate the nuances of small amounts of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon before bottling.
